For example, young animals have soft, supple, fine skin. These qualities are changing with age. Females have more dense and elastic skin than males. The skin in different parts of the animal's body has also different quality: the most dense and thick skin on the back is saddle, a bit thinner on the neck is ratchet; skin on the belly is soft and friable, with a large extent. Hides of cattle are most used for the manufacture of leather goods such as backpacks. This is a durable material with a nice grain pattern for any purse.

Sheep are less likely to produce leather. Most often they are used as raw material. Their skin is soft, thin with fine relief pattern. Pig skin has a peculiar pattern with large pores, placed in a triangle (tracks of magpie's feet). Pig skin is cheap and therefore has wide application.

Women's backpacks, as a rule, are made of thick rigid leather. If you choose handbags, purse or cosmetics bag made of soft leather, it should be duplicated more dense material.
